She was the first to wake the next morning. she stretched
as she slid down off the large pillow she had slept on.
she slowly walked across the bed as she came closer to the
sleeping giant who had been so kind to her. she stood next
to his shoulder as she watched him sleep. he who had seemed
so terrifying the night before, now looked as if he
couldnt nor wouldnt hurt a fly.
Mabye he would not hurt her as she had first thought.
he looked so innocent when he was like this, but she
knew that trust would not come easily for her just yet.
It was not something that came easily for her and she
would have to get used to the idea of being around him.
should the circumstances prove to be so.
she continued to watch him as the expression he was
wearing made her laugh slightly. She stiffened slightly
and backed away slowly as she saw him
start to stir. she sat down and leaned back against
the pillow she had slept on as she watched
him slowly start to wake up. he yawned as he slowly
got up and stretched.
"good morning Alice. Have you been awake long?" he looked
down at her as she smiled gently.
"No, i only just woke up, Alexander." she slowly made her
way over to him and sat down beside him. he gently
picked her up and took her into the bathroom. she stiffened
slightly when he did. obviously not used to being picked
up but she quickly regained her composure as he sat her down
beside the sink and stepped back out and closed the
door to give her some privacy.
she walked to the faucette and pushed down the stopper into
the drain. she then turned the hot and cold taps
and fixed them untill the temperature was
right. she turned off the taps when the
water level was high enough for her to bathe in and
slipped off her long black mourning dress as she
slid into the warm water.
"Are you alright in there Alice?" she heard Alexander call.
"Im fine Alexander, thank you." she started lathing soap into
her hair and body. she quickly rinsed off and began to climb
out of the sink. she took a small wash cloth that was on
the counter and quickely dried off as she slipped her dress back
on and unplugged the stopper from the drain to let the water
out. she heard Alexander gently knock on the door.
"Alice are you finished in there? I have something for you."
her eyes widened slightly as she wondered what it could be.
"Yes im finished Alexander, you can come in." he slowly opened
the door. as he entered he sat down a small dress.
"Here my dear, i thought you might need this." she looked
down at it and uttered a small gasp. it was a small light
blue dress with a large white sash around it.
"Did you make this alexander? its beautifull, thank you so
much." he blushed slightly when she had praised it.
"Yes i thought you would like something else to change into.
Do you like it?" she walked across the counter over to him
and smiled up at him.
"I love it, thank you so much. Your really talented to be
able to make something this small and detailed so quickly."
he smiled and blushed slightly as he handed the dress to her
and walked back out of the bathroom.
"I hope it fits enough" she began pulling off her black
dress when he had closed the door once again and slipped on the new one. she wrapped the wide sash around her waist
and tied it in the back. she pulled on her long black
and white stockings and brushed out her slightly damp black
hair until it reached down to her calfs. Alexander once
again knocked on the door to see if she was done.
"Does the dress fit alright my dear?" he asked worriedly.
"It fits wonderfully Alexander, thank you so much." he once
again opened the door and walked in slowly. he made hiw way
to the counter and looked down at her. she smiled up at
him as he put his hand down next to her. she got the silent
suggestion that he would carry her and slowly almost nervously
climbed into his hand and sat down.
he slowly lifted his hand and placed his other hand around her.
he walked out of the bathroom and back into his bedroom. he
gently sat her down on his desk and pulled out a book from
the bookshelf next to them.
"Do you like books my dear?" she didnt seem to hear him
as she was entranced by the enormouse bookshelf looming over her.
"Heh, ill take that as a yes." she shook her head slightly
as she left her slightly fixated gaze.
"Yes." she said. "I love reading. More than anything" he
lowered a large book down next to her on the desk and
turned it towards her.
"Then mabye you'll enjoy this." she looked down at the
cover and started laughing. for the book he picked out
was none other than alice in wonderland and through
the looking glass.
"It's one of my personal favorites."
"It's one of my favorites to." He opened the cover and
flipped over to the first page. she began reading the words
that had become so familiar to her. ironic now that she felt
like she had fallen into her own wonderland, and how it
felt like she had drank out of that little bottle that causes
so much trouble.
she stared at one of the pictures and suddenly realized
why the dress she was wearing seemed so familiar to her.
she smiled slyly at Alexander as she pointed to an
illistration in the book.
"You wouldnt happen to have modeled my dress after her's
now would you Alexander?" he blushed slightly and laughed
nervously.
"Well....you see I needed a pattern for the dress and
thats what first came into my mind. can you blame me
for modeling it like that? you make such a cute alice
after all." she blushed brightly from his complement and
smiled nervously.
"I dont blame you for making it like that. after all
i've always liked her dress." she sighed as she leaned
back into his arm that he had laid on the table. she
continued reading up until she had reached the mock
turtles story, when she heard a sudden growling. she
turned back to look at alexander and laughed slightly
when she realized it was his stomach. she laughed slightly
as she began to blush in embaressment.
"What do you say to breakfast my dear?" he asked as he
looked down at her.
"Definetely." he gently picked her up and held her in his
hands while he walked out of his bedroom, down the hall
and into the kitchen. he say her down slowly on the table
and went to the counter to gather the ingrediants for an
omlette for her and himself.
"I hope an omlettes is ok for you my dear." he asked slightly
nervously.
"Of course it's alright Alexander. whatever you like, i dont
mind anything." the smells of good cooking filled the kitchen
and she soon found herself nearly salivating from the aroma.
for it had been Aat least a full day since she hadd last
eaten anything. he walked back to the table and sat down two
plates. one being the size of a tea saucer to him while to
her it seemed the size of a serving platter.
"Im sorry I dont have anything smaller for you my dear."
she shook her head.
"It's fine. im sorry you have to go to this trouble just
for me you really dont have to." she looked away slightly
shy as he moved his hand to her and gently started stroking
her hair and back.
"Of course I do my dear. I assure you its no troule."
"If you say so." she leaned into his hand and slowly began
to eat the omlette portion he had made for her. "Mmm, this
is really good Alexander." he continued to gently rub her back
as she finished and slowly began to grow more and more tired.
"Im glad you like it my dear." she slowly started to drift off
to sleep curled up next to his hand. he smiled downn at her
when he noticed that she had finally drifted off to sleep. he
quietly cleared away the dishes and gently picked her back up.
he returned to his room and gently laid her down on the pillow
that she had slept on the night before. after makeing sure
she was still asleep he silently left the room and entered
the large lybrary.
he climbed a small ladder in order to reach the topmost
shelves to reach a large volume. he carried it back to
a large reading chair and returned to the kitchen to prepare
some tea himself and his little guest should she want it.
She had woken up and found herself surrounded by mounds of
white. at first she wondered what happened only to realize
that she must have fallen asleep again. she slid down off
of the large pillow she had been placed on and walked to
the edge of the carefully made bed and nearly fell over
when she realized how high up she was. 'I must figure out
a way to get down safely' she thought. she knew better
than to try to jump down. she considered sliding down the
bed post but dismissed it when she saw that there was
no way she would be able to hold on.
it seemed her only option was to simply slide down the
side of the bed quilts. this proved to work as she quickly
made her descent down the bed. she landed with a thump as
she hit the floor. she stood up and took a moment to compose
herself before making her way across the huge floor to the
ever looming door that towered above her.
'It's a good thing Alexander left the door open. otherwise i might
never get it open.' she thought to herself as she pulled
open the door a little more and slipped through. she walked
along the wall as she tried to find her way through the
enormouse manor. as she began walking through the hallway,
she spied him sitting in a large chair in what appeared to
be the lybrary.
'oh so that's where he's been.' she quietly walked in when
she realized he had fallen asleep with a book on his lap
and a cup of tea cooling on the table next to him. 'best not to wake him.' she wondered
though how she was going to find a way up there
without waking him up. she tried to think of a
way when she noticed a stack of books next to the
table. when she saw that they went nearly all the
way to the table she slowly stepped on the bottom
of the stack and started to climb it.
when she had reached the top she quickly climbed onto the
table. not wanting to repeat that action anytime soon. she
walked across the table and sat down next to the still
warm teacup. she turned to look at the man who had been
so kind as to take her in and treated her so nicely.
she knew now that he didnt intend any harm and she was
starting to develope a real sense of trust in him. somthing
she didnt think would be possible for her so quickly.
what was it about this kind giant that was changing her?
"Sigh, i wish there was some way i could repay him for his
kindness." she said softly, not wishing to wake him. she
began to drift out of her mind as her eyes started to
cloud over with sadness. time slowed as her mind began to
drift. what seemed like hours later she gasped slightly
when she felt familiar large but soothing fingers gently rub
her back softly. she turned to see Alexander looking down at
her slightly worried.
"Are you alright my dear? You seemed to be acting strange.
I didnt know if you where alright or not. please tell me
if something's wrong." she blinked her eyes a few times and
realized her face was wet. she raised her hand to her
face and realized she had been crying. she tried to wipe
away her tears when alexand pulled out a hankerchief and
gently dried her face.
"Are you alright little one? why are you so upset?" she
sniffed slightly as she shook her head.
'I cant believe im crying in front of him' she thought.
she hadnt done that with anyone hardly ever before.
what was it about him that made her act so differently?
"No im fine i was just thinking of my mother. It's just
hard to believe that she's gone." She lowered her head and
turned around so that he couldnt see her face. but instead
he picked her up in his hands and gently held her to him.
"My dear, im so sorry this happened to you. no wonder your
in pain." she stiffened immediantly but slowly she relaxed
and tried her best to hug him as she curled up tighter in
his warm embrace. she slowly calmed down and
stopped shaking as she soaked in his warmth.
"Thank you Alexander. Why are you so kind to me?" she remained
curled up held against him in his hands as she slowly calmed
down and stopped crying. he slowly raised her to eye level and
gently kissed her cheek.
"Beacuse I love you my dear."
as she slid down off the large pillow she had slept on.

The Giant of Felrein CH2
Chapter 2
The circus had long since gone quiet. The day's work had ceased, and the performers and staff had retired to their tents and were long asleep. Dara lay awake, troubled by thoughts of the giant. She had to be missing something. She kicked off her blankets, slipped on her boots, and headed out the flap of her tent, creeping towards the giant's tent. She paused outside it, beginning to question her own judgement.
But what was the worst that could happen? On the off chance the giant was dangerous, he was caged, so there really was no risk to her. And if he was uncivilized as Celia seemed to think, it was unlikely he'd rat her out, eit

Chapter 1
"Welcome, Dara!" Leo said, embracing his niece. "How was your trip?"
"It was fine, thanks," Dara said. Leo was her late mother's elder sibling, although she saw only a fleeting resemblance, perhaps because her uncle wore the large, bushy mustache that was traditional to ringmasters of Alorian. He was a tall man, and of solid build. He stood roughly a head taller than his nineteen year old niece, and was finer dressed as well. Her plain white shirt, brown leather vest, green denim pants, and worn boots paled in comparison to his pristine white suit coat and polished black boots. Even his dark hair, its shade only a tad darker than

Loath | Chapter 2
As I was walking toward the huge front door, more and more nervous about the incoming face-to-face, a tremor shook the ground. It wasn’t a violent shaking, but I felt it, as well as I heard a loud booming sound coming from the forest. Loud shocks, cracking of branches, and even more tremors… Whatever it was, it was heading in my direction. And it was huge.
I began to panic, and quickened my pace toward the door. The garden’s gate was closed, but for some reason it didn’t reassure me at all. And the three impassable steps before the wooden door only made it worse; I couldn’t climb and get near the door.
Then, tha

hehe well the I love you part has come a little fast here, especially when we still do not know Alexander that well yet. However, this is still a fun story and you are doing very well for a first tale.
Alexander is a neat character, the kind of character I usually make as the heroes in my story, I can connect to him very well. And Alice is a complex character that seems happy, but has a sadness too. an interesting situation where it still is not sure where these two will end up.
I would like to know more about the World these two Characters live in. Is it our world? Or a different world where Giants are around but people do not know?
